App Features – Login
To access the Slow Finance application with ALL of its features, you must have first purchased a copy of the Slow finance book.
Demo registration is available but has limited access to features, such as no more than 5 companies to be displayed at any one time.
App Features – Buying The Book
The Slow Finance App incorporates a level of mobile commerce to enable the purchasing of the book directly from the App.
The mobile commerce engine is powered by Flick Mobile’s payment gateway and brokers the transactions to Bloomsbury via Secure Trading.
Users purchasing the book via the App will automatically be allowed access to the App’s full feature set.
App Features – BApp Authentication
What is a BApp? A BApp is a book with an App to support and emphasise its content.
To verify that you have a copy of the book, the Slow Finance App incorporates a new BApp authentication mechanism to provide word challenges to the user based on the books ISBN.
Successful authentication will allow the user to register and take advantage of the full feature set.
App Features – Map View
The Map View of the App provides you with company information based on your current location.
As you move around the city the map updates the company information.
You can refine the map view to only show companies from sectors of interest.
Selecting a company from this view will take you to the Company Summary page.
App Features – List View
The List View is a tabular view of companies showing on the map, allowing them to be ordered and ranked using measures in the Slow Finance strategy:

Smallness
Value
Dividend
The companies list can be ordered by each of the above fields and the top ranking are indicated by colour. Sell signals are also available here and highlighted in red.
App Features – Company Summary
The Company Summary view shows more detail on the companies head office address and financial information.
From the Company Summary view you can also email or phone the person responsible in the company who deals with investor interest, and view the webpage for the company
You may also wish to report any new or missing business locations to the Slow Finance team from this view.
App Features – Your Watch List
Your Watch List provides you with a list of favourite companies that you have chosen to save.
The Watch List has all the features of the List View for ordering and graphical indicators.
App Features – Company News
The Company News view also takes its information from Thompson Reuters and provides the user with the latest significant developments.
